Reflexion final

Starting with what I thought before starting the course, I really thought that technology in the teaching of English was an easy topic to understand, it was not complicated, and I didn't have many topics to break down either, but as I elaborated the assignments and As you read the material, you realize that it is not only that students make use of technologies, but also that they do not know how to use these technologies with almost perfect agility and ease. to technology, from the first activity I understood that I was not as capable in the control of technologies as I thought because I really did not know how to create or edit a blog, because sometimes you do not know something that can be so basic when you have the use of technology included in your teaching, because it is not something you deal with on a daily basis.

Returning to the topic that I thought that this course was not really extensive, I think it had a lot to do with the pandemic, when I took online classes the teachers tried to innovate and find alternatives so that the work was not tedious and the students really acquired knowledge, That was a key to realizing how important technology is and how useful it can be, but since at that time the teachers weren't very well prepared either because there wasn't a great variety of material or interaction with technology, there were even some that they refused and the platforms were only for uploading works, but not for preparing them, well, obviously since it was the first interaction I had with teaching English and technology I thought that this was the correct way to work, and above all my ideas and knowledge of the subject were only those.

With the first activities that we had to carry out "educaplay" I thought that it really wasn't that complicated but it was laborious work to carry out each activity that we sometimes find on the internet and recycle, but it is very true that sometimes the activities are not adapted in 100% to your topic or your way of teaching, there I understood the importance of knowing how to do the digital activities yourself, because you do them according to the needs that you present as a teacher.

Undoubtedly the most complex job to carry out was the webquest because I had never really heard of it, I had not seen one, much less knew how it was made, it seems simple when you already know it or have experience, but at first no matter how much I investigated about it He and some examples, I couldn't fully understand it, I was an activity that I took time with, that finally all the research and ideas took shape and made things easier for me when carrying out my final webquest.

When I made the educational video it was definitely a challenge because I had no idea what to do, I'm so used to doing everything as if it were a microteaching that I really thought of doing the same, I couldn't think of anything that could be helpful or really a video that was not a class, but in the end I ended up doing it and very happy with the result, the shame was a very big challenge because I really don't like it or I don't feel comfortable recording myself but it was a challenge that made me improve, I severed the video 17 times to get the end result

To conclude the topic of my blog I will talk about the evaluations, actually carrying out the material and research on the evaluation was a fairly simple topic for me because I already had experience with the subject, I had already taken a class on everything related to the evaluation, its types and topics, not only that I needed to know well were the different types of instruments, but with the previous knowledge I had it was easy to choose and identify which one would best suit my methodology.

Now let's talk about a more general topic: How can technology motivate students?

Using technology can change your classroom for the better

Kids love technology. It is like a kind of a magic pencil. If teachers give them the opportunity to learn using technology, then their motivation increases, allowing a better retention of knowledge.

Recent research shows that the majority of the learning process occurs outside the classroom. The main reason why this happens is because of the interaction. People learn through action, instead of learning passively. So, why not just bring that “outside” into the classroom?

Technology may be able to help teachers achieve that. In fact, some research indicates that technology can improve both the teaching and learning aspects of education. It also encourages active engagement and interactivity that students are so accustomed to outside of class, and miss when having to pay attention to lesson materials. Interactivity makes it easy for students to revisit specific parts of the subjects, to explore them more fully, to test ideas, and to receive feedback.

One of the most important goals of teachers is to develop the creative thinking of students and prepare them for the life ahead, equipped with a mindset that allows them to overtake problems and challenges with innovative and creative solutions. Having this in mind, it’s very important to keep the students’ motivation high so that they can assimilate all the knowledge teachers transmit.

It is important to integrate technology in the classroom because it has become so integral to the world outsite of the classroom and students are more tech-savvy than ever before. Having technology in the classroom is not a replacement for a good teacher. However, when we combine a great teacher with a constructive classroom technology usage the results are an even-better education.
